Our story began in the strangest year of modern history: 2020. (Thanks, pandemic!?)
It all starts with our two best friends. Ernesto's best friend since childhood, Oswaldo, and one of Alejandra's childhood best friends, Luisanna, were coincidentally living at the same time in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They had been living in Argentina for years and over time, had become part of a common group of friends until they became close friends.
In October-November of 2020 (in the middle of the pandemic), Luisanna decides to travel to Miami. It is on this occasion that Oswaldo excitedly invites Luisanna (from Argentina) to meet his best friend (Ernesto) in Miami. Similarly, Oswaldo encourages Ernesto to meet Luisanna while she visits Miami. On her trip to Miami, Luisanna decided to stay at the apartment of her best friends in Miami: Alejandra and Nela, who coincidentally lived together. The visit was particularly special because it allowed the three of them to share part of the pandemic together and turn a moment of great uncertainty into a special moment for the three of them.
On Friday, November 27, 2020, a "cold" night (for us, we know), just a random Miami night in a time when businesses were just beginning to reopen with restrictions in Miami, Luisanna asked Alejandra to come with her to finally meet "Oswaldo's brother" for a while. An invitation that Alejandra accepted out of obligation and without much enthusiasm. (She still felt uncomfortable in public spaces during the Pandemic) That night, the three of them met at the best meeting place in Miami, Lagniappe.
The night was one of those nights that are not planned – we were almost the last to leave, a night full of stories, laughter, and wine. The night was so naturally pleasant that Luisanna suggested to Alejandra (while Ernesto was buying more wine) to invite Ernesto the next day to a boat they had already reserved. Alejandra, very convinced (among wines and laughter), said YES. For his part, Ernesto accepted the invitation (for which he almost didn't wake up on time) to go to see them the next day: Saturday, November 27.
That day marked the beginning of a relationship where two strangers met and wanted to continue getting to know each other. We felt as if we had known each other forever. Our relationship was built like things that are true: effortlessly and naturally. Always wanting to be together. After two months, Ernesto formally asked Alejandra to be a couple. Eight months later, they decided to move in and start living together. A decision that felt natural, even though both decided to give up their independence, personal space, and exchange them for the love of building a life together.
We have always felt as if we knew each other from other lives. Since we met, it felt as if there hadn’t been a time "before" we were together. It's as if the fate of meeting was already written for us – and we finally found each other.
